Whaddya get for The Chrismakkuh Solsikwanz?
I got: a 4 Qt slow cooker (!!!), a kenmore blender, an electric griddle that Luis and I have wanted to get for the longest time, an interview dress, a ceramic plated hair iron, a hair dryer, and a french press that I have wanted forever.
The girls got: PJs, stacking toys, one of those shape sorters that have the pump handle so the balls spin, rattles, teethers, an outfit (for each of them) from my college roommate, and I think that was about it.
Oh, we also got a Darden giftcard. It goes for Seasons 52, and that where we are thinking about going when we get to use it. I think I have heard good things about it from you guys. I'll have to check the menu, but I'm sure there is something vegan friendly on there.
Re: Whaddya get for The Chrismakkuh Solsikwanz?
I GOT: A Canon Powershot Camera from DH, A Prenatal Body Pillow from my inlaws (can someone teach me how to use it hahahha which end for the head and goes between my legs lmao), Blanket, Some tops, Pandroa bracelet with a baby carriage charm from my best friend, a Swarovski ring from one of my sisters, more Christmas decor for next year, and other kitchen stuff from friends. My sister from CA is sending her gift still so I guess have more gifts to open later.
So so so grateful for all the gifts I got, most especially the bun im baking in my oven that is due in April : )
Merry Christmas everyone!
MK watch, Tiffany's bracelet, pressure cooker, veg cookbook, earrings, yoga DVD, bangle bracelets, herb growers (not that kind), herb microplane, AMEX gift card, Christmas ornaments, and some other little things that I can't remember now. Oh, and probably the most sentimental - my parents custom framed my Peace Corps Completion of Service certificate and the formal invitation letter signed by the President.

Chris got me a Kindle Fire!! He's really been rockin' @ the presents lately! I didn't even mention that I wanted one, so that makes it even better!
I got some compression sleeves..lol, only a runner would be excited over something like compression sleeves. a subscription to runners world, visa gift card, Kara Goucher's book, a running calendar thing (to log all my runs in) a few other GCs from my sisters, and some random things in my stocking from my Mom.
I got Chris an MP3 player, and some Costa del Mar sunglasses- I had a fun time w/ the sunglasses. He thought he was getting the sunglasses, but I only gave him the MP3 player this morning. So after we opened presents and took the dogs for a walk I asked him if he was sad he didn't get the Costa's.. he said no, but that he thought he was getting them bc he saw them on the amazon site. I said, "Oh, well I looked @ them, but I couldn't get them bc they didn't have the ones you want, plus, I want you to try them on to make sure you like them."
So when we got to my Mom's he had this huge box to open and inside the big box was the little box that his Costas came in... kind of cheesy, but it was fun bc he really wasn't expecting to get them.
We were very clear that we weren't doing big gifts this year because we just spent so much money on our house to get ready for the baby. We did know that MIL was pitching in with H's BFF for a gift for both of us but we didn't know it was an ipad! We were ridiculously spoiled! She wanted H to have something that wasn't centered around the baby. She also got us a really nice video camera! Yay!! It will be awesome to have to capture the baby growing, but I can't believe I look even bigger on tv than I do in the mirror
I got my last 2 champagne flutes to complete the set I'm collecting. I got an amazing crock pot which is all I wanted. Handsoaps (the peppermint one is yum)!!. Some Harry and Davids treats for hospital snacks. And Grandma got us some QVC gifts - sheets, more casserole dishes and a vase for our mantle.
Amelia got a few new outfits, she is spoiled already!
DH and I both got each other MK watches. I got such a good deal on his that I also got him The Pacific (a WW II HBO miniseries) and handles for his ESEE IZULA (a fixed blade knife). My mom got him some Daniel Tosh DVDs and The Hangover I and II. She got me silver sparkly TOMS (they are fabulous) and both of us a Kitchenaid pasta maker attachment. My grandma gave me the most awesome random gift, a coffee mug with a picture of me and my mom from Thanksgiving (I look super skinny which is why it's awesome). Each of our dads gave us checks for very generous amounts which will put us well above our baby fund.
This turned out to be the one of the best Christmases. I really am blessed with a wonderful family.

duh. you are skinny
My mom got me a Tarte makeup kit from Sephora and the colors are actually nice and not all crazy looking like they usually are with makeup kits. I like it a lot.
My MIL, gave my a dress that was designed by the clothing designer she sews for. It's supposedly a "couture" label, but it's more like 80-woman-couture. The dress is really weird, but I kind of like it. It's floor length and strapless with a sweetheart neckline and comes in this sea foam green color with random lace patches. It has a pointed train in the back that I can only imagine is meant to be reminiscent of a mermaid's tail, but the best part by far is the assortment of seashells, beaded tassels, and embroidery that are sewn to the boobs of the dress.
My husband and I agreed that we wouldn't get each other gifts. I cheated and got him a cheap electric razor. He swears his gift is that he's taking me to the Maldives for our anniversary next year (but only if he can pay for it completely with airline miles because he's cheap).
We always do a gift exchange with the siblings in my family, but our gifts haven't come in yet so I don't know what my sister's latest boyfriend whom I have never met got me yet.
My parents got us this awesome baby swing, our first major baby gift. It plugs in and swings by itself and plays music or nature sounds and basically we can just put the baby in it and go shopping for a few hours and not worry about him while we are gone (totally kidding..). But it is awesome.
H got me a VS gift certificate and a preggo body pillow which I'm hoping will help me sleep a little better. He also got me a really cute gator shirt that says Quarterback In Training on the belly.
I got some maternity clothes, baby clothes, and other random stuff. It was a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah with my family and I'm so grateful.
My H totally spoiled me - perfume, beautiful new purse, diamond earrings! We both agreed to go a little crazy this year to celebrate our last Christmas just as a couple, because we know that as of next year, it will be all about the baby.
We also got our stroller from my dad, a lot of baby/maternity clothes from my mom, a cute baby book from my sister, and some gift cards to restaurants, etc. I also got a VERY generous spa gift card from my coworkers so I think a pregnancy massage (or two!) will be calling my name very soon.
It was a wonderful Christmas!

From H: I got a new camera, floor mats for my car, a very generous spa gift card, and a charm for my Brighton bracelet that says "Baby Boy" and has tiny blue footprints.
From family: A couple of outfits for Junior, crib sheets and a breathable bumper, pajama pants (I live in pj pants whenever I am home), a breastfeeding book, a very generous Visa gift card from H's birth mom, a very generous Target gift card from my dad, new lotions, a robe for the hospital, homemade granola (yum!), a Macy's giftcard from my grandma, and a baby blanket.
It was definitely one of the best Christmas weekends I have had and next year I can't wait to share it with our son.
