CND Shellac polish - where to buy?

I want to buy my own and bring it to the nail salon because they have such a limited color selection. Do the stores like Sally's or Ulta carry it? I can order it online if all else fails but I'd like to try and see the colors in person.

Sally and Ulta both have websites where you can find the answer to this question.

  • Right. And since they don't seem to have it on their site, I asked if stores like Sally's or Ulta have it. The google machine produces no information on where to buy it retail. Thanks.
  • You guys are awesome help. Retail, like in a store I can walk in and look at the colors and buy. Nevermind.
  • As far as I know you can only buy CND Shellac from a professional salon supply store, and you have to have a license. You can however buy online from Amazon or eBay like PP's said (since I assume you don't have a license to purchase them retail at a professional supply place). You can look up the colors on the CND website. That is how I determined what colors to purchase from eBay, and I was not disappointed.

Sally does sell a gel polish called Gelish and I have seen recently that Sally Hansen came out with a line of gel polish as well. If you want to look before purchasing, then those would probably be your best bet.

    First off, simmer down, OP!

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but since you said you could order online, I figured I would offer that up. As PP mentioned, for the most part, you'll need a license to purchase the stuff. Fortunately, Sally Beauty carries the Gelish brand, which is similar, and is what I use. Unfortunately though, they only carry the "mini" sizes of the polishes, and you can get the full sized ones on Amazon (hence my rec) for the same price or even cheaper. You can at least go in to the store if you really wanted to see them in person, otherwise, you can do what I do. Since it seems like you prefer the CND stuff, I'll walk you through my steps with that product.

Step one - Go to website to see colors available:

    http://www.cnd.com/Products/Color/shellac-colors.aspx

Here, you can browse through all of the colors and look for those that appeal to you. In looking at these, I noticed the color "Purple Purple", and want to see what it might look like on a person.

Step two - Hit up Google to see swatches:

I type in "CND Shellac purple purple swatch" and look on google images

    https://www.google.com/search?q=CND+Shellac+purple+purple+swatch&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=R3j6TsugEIut0AHJh9jXBA&biw=1366&bih=643&sei=Snj6Tq2vJoXW0QHqhoDJAg

I see several swatches, and decide from this photo that its a color I like, and would like to purchase:

Step three - I hit up Amazon.com to find the color:

     http://www.amazon.com/CND-Shellac-Purple-Polish-0-25/dp/B005G5DO2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325037946&sr=8-1

Step four - I buy it.

    Hopefully that was more helpful.
