the only thing is he refuses to take a bottle... and we dont really want to spend a billion dollars trying to find the "right" one.. we have the avent bottles- is there a way we can like "train" him to use these?? any advice is welcome... right now we are just starting to try boob strikes every night until he takes it..  i have an 8 hr day coming up where i wont be with him and then back to work starting jan 24th (nooo!)

In my breastfeeding class the LC said that when you introduce the bottle you should have dad do it and it might even be best if mom leaves the house and goes for a walk because baby can sense that she's in the house and will refuse the bottle to hold out for the boob.  GL!  When do you go back to work?  Too bad you're not there this week ;)

Thank you!!  I should be really nervous, but I'm actually really sleepy instead.  I'm off to bed earlier than I've been since 1st tri, and I'll save the nerves for the morning :)   I'll post pics as soon as I'm functioning again!

  • Good luck, Sara!!  Can't wait to hear how it goes and see the new baby!

I'm doing well.  Finished most of the baby shopping this weekend, and got the nursery in somewhat functioning order.  I just need to get the changing table set up, the stuffed animals and random things put away, and get a glider.  The apartment is also close to being done, so that's a relief!  I can't believe I'm due in about 30 days...

aww man i didnt even know you would be delivering at my hospital!!! i wont be back there until january 24th... but i feel like it will be here before i know it. i took isaac there on christmas eve to deliver cookies to my coworkers and so they can see him again... it was weird going back even then. im going to miss my little guy so much- 13.5hrs away from him including travel time while im there :/

  • Kennedy had a GREAT Christmas, even though she's caught a bit of a cold.  She got ridiculously spoiled.  She was literally amidst a sea of presents, if you happened to see the blog or the pic on FB, you know what I'm talking about.  She had a blast though - she enjoyed opening the paper (and eating it) for awhile, but then she was over it and just wanted to play with the toys.  I really hope she starts feeling better.  I've been up with her most of the night the past two nights, and I'm completely exhausted.  We have EI and a Cardiology appt in the morning.  She's sleeping well tonight, but H is in the ER so I'm freaking out.

  • Zoe had a great first Christmas! Our living room was filled to the brim with presents. It's a really small living room, but still! It looked like Santa had crashed his sleigh in there. She wasn't really interested in opening presents. Not even the paper very much. H and I opened them for her, but with all the distraction of new toys, eating, and naps, we didn't finish opening all of our presents until after 5, lol!

I can't believe I have to start thinking about her first birthday now!! We are just going to have something small.

She loves to clap and wave, and pulls herself up so fast now. She even gets brave and holds on with one hand. I can't believe how steady she has gotten in such a short amount of time.

BFing is still going strong. I can't believe we've made it over 10 months! I had thought about stopping when she is 1, but I think I am going to just see where it goes, since the recommendation is 2. I'd be cool with a morning and night feeding for a while. She has started blowing raspberries on my stomach when I nurse her lying down and she is done eating. She cracks herself up! It is too cute! :)

  • Things are still pretty much the same here. I had another appointment last week and everything looks good, although we still need to do a follow-up ultrasound to get a look at her kidneys again (at our last u/s they were a little "plump" so they just want to make sure she's growing into them okay), and my doc wants to do an echocardiogram to check her heart b/c they didn't get all the views of the heart they wanted at the last u/s. I'm having some trouble getting these things scheduled which is stressing me out, but it will happen. We've also had some hospital drama/stress and now are switching hospitals, which is a royal pain, but I just keep telling myself that in three months (!!!!!!!!!!) the baby will be here one way or another, so it will all work out.

I did find out I passed my glucose test, so that made me happy for sure!

Oh, and my sister and cousin are planning a shower for me in FL in January, so I'm super psyched about that.

  • Good Luck Sarah!!!

Things are good here.  My US went well last week, everything measured right on and my NT scan measurement was 1.5 which is normal.  The US tech even did a sneak peak between the legs and told us she is 75% sure it is a boy!  We got a bunch of cute baby boy outfits for Xmas!  I am excited to start looking for stuff now, but we won't buy anything until we know for sure.  I have my 16 week appt on the 17th but I dont think that is an US. My belly is starting to pop out a little bit but I'm still in my regular clothes for now.

  • I felt her kick for sure for the first time on Christmas day, that was the best present ever!  I had my Peri appt today for her echocardiogram, everything checked out perfectly thank goodness. I don't have to go back to the Peri for 7 weeks if everything continues going well.

  • I'm doing ok at this point.  I am really emotional and anything H does at the moment gets me super weepy.  We are in the beginning stages of having our addition put on and it is totally stressing me out.  This is the first day H hasn't been here to help manage the workers that are coming and going and I am not comfortable directing them.  So I basically told him if he wants anything to happen while I am home from work, he needs to be here.  So tomorrow, he is staying home until they start laying concrete.  So after a good cry and a nap, I am feeling better, lol.

I think MacKenzie has hit her terrible twos and very early I might add.  She is constantly yelling no, she has torn apart the house on several occasions (her toys, but still!), is writing on the walls with crayon, and crying hysterically when I lay her down for bed and naps.  Everyone keeps saying to me "Oh, I love this age!" and I basically want to curse them out.

With emotions running high, I am ready to be out of my first trimester!

  • Our Christmas was awesome! Chloe looked so cute in her Christmas outfits. She's been smiling and talking so much.  I noticed that she tilts her head to one said more than another so I took her to the pedi and they told me she has Torticollis. She needs physical therapy and it should be corrected in a few months.

  • Congrats Sara on your beautiful daughter!

Tomorrow is my 32 week appointment and then it is just a few weeks before I switch to weekly appointments.  I am starting to stress a little bit about getting everything done at home and at work before Junior arrives especially now that I had a friend go into labor 3 weeks early!  Yikes!  I know that everybody is different but I can't help but think in the back of my mind, "what if?"

  • Im 25 weeks today and Baby J is moving a lot making my belly jump every once in a while. Such a great feeling. I have a Glucose test scheduled on the 12th. Thank goodness still no stretch marks besides my boobs hahaha but not bad at all. Back pain regularly comes and goes now. I also get this tightness feeling on the top part of my belly right below my left boob, as if baby J is pushing up on it and it really feels uncomfortable and a lot of pressure, anyone else experiences this? I have not weighed myself lately, Im going to wait till next appointment.

I get this all the time.  Sometimes he can even make my boob bounce.  It doesn't hurt, just feels strange.
