I'm sure this has been asked and answered a million times, but the search function on here is le suck. Suggestions for wedding dress cleaners locally? And what is the price range. After long last, I need to get my dress cleaned to see if they can get it clean enough to sell. It's time to clean out the guest room closet to make room for baby!
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

Re: Wedding dress cleaners?
I took mine to an actual cleaners (dry cleaners). I went to the one off far west just past the heb/post office on the left, right before you get to Muchison Middle School.
They did a great job cleaning it up. I ended up getting my preserved as well.

Hands down the best place locally is Austin's Cleaners on McNeil. The price ranges anywhere from $75 to $130 depending on fabric, beading, and what kind of stains they are dealing with. We use them exclusively at my shop and have never had a problem.
PP mentioned steaming.....this is a process to get the wrinkles out, not to actually clean the dress. They may be spot treating stains at that time, but I don't recommend that at all - the cleaner itself can water spot, even showing up years later. It's best to dry clean the entire gown.
IMHO, preservation isn't necessary, and doesn't do anything that a nice fabric garment bag won't do. The only perk would be that it is folded up in a box, which may be easier for you to store (vs. hanging it up). Plus, you typically have to ship it off to be preserved, and I have heard many a horror story about that. If you want it done, I believe that Austin's Cleaners does it in-house.
You can have the gown cleaned anytime after the wedding (mine was 2 years ago and I STILL haven't done it!!!) but they may not have as much success with any stains as they may have had earlier.
When you drop it off, you should point out any stains, have them mark them, and let them know what the stain is, if you know.
