NYE Plans?

What are your plans for NYE?  Do you have specific traditions you do as a family or couple?

We are going to Ft. Lauderale tomorrow!  We couldn't be more excited!  It will be Parker's 2nd time to the ocean, but first to the Atlantic.  We will go to dinner, then back to my parent's condo for dessert and games while we wait for the fireworks off of the pier!

I have no idea what we are going to do. I asked T yesterday and he couldn't come up with anything. I thought about maybe going out to a nice dinner, last year we went to Ruth's Chris, I thought I'd like to go to my favorite Melting Pot, but he hasn't said if he wants to or not. We usually have champagne at midnight, for this year I got us some sparkling apple cider at the store today. I'm figuring I will probably be asleep long before midnight, but we'll see.

I'm secretly hoping baby will be on her way out. More practically speaking I will probably be in bed studying for my CCHT exam on Jan 3rd.

We're going to make reservations at a Hibachi place near us for dinner, and then come home and sit on the couch with a bottle of wine. We got invited out, but after the last few weeks, this is about all I can handle. Should be a good night there!

We're going up to Indy for the night. We're having a "couples NYE" with two other couples. The hosts are making the main courses for dinner (surf n turf? HELL YES!) and breakfast Sunday morning.

I'm making desserts (what yet-I don't know), drunken gummy bears, and champagne jello shots!

We are going to Times Square to watch the Ball drop live!! One of our friends from back home is coming out Friday and staying w/ us for a week, so she will join us! I can't wait, another "check" on our bucket lists will be complete!

For the past few years we've always celebrated NYE with our closest friends (3 other couples). This year we're going into Boston for dinner, going to see the Nutcracker and then will spend way too much money at a Boston bar. We're thinking of trying to make it home before midnight and drink here instead of the bar to save on money, but we'll see.

We will be in New Orleans (obviously if you saw my last post!) and I am not sure that we will be out doing anything there.  With the baby I'm not even sure we'll make it to midnight BUT we'll figure it out when we get there.

We have no plans as of yet.  I think we may just stay in.  We won't have a babysitter and I don't feel like hauling Kenzie out to someones house again.  Some friends of ours just got a hot tub and suggested having a "hot tub party" at their place, but I really do not want to put on a swimsuit! 

No traditions.  When we were kids we used to go to my Grandma's with all my cousins and sleep over there and watch the ball drop on tv.  It was always lots of fun.

 We haven't done anything in a few years: 2009-moved into our place in NE on NYE, 2010-no babysitter and a 6 month old, 2011-either super pregnant or with a very new newborn

We usually go to my parents on NYE. This year is no different. We'll have champagne and appetizers and then spend the night. Should be fun. I hope some of you ladies have babies by then!!!

David's working and I'm currently sick as a dog, with no hope to better by then. So I will be home sleeping.

We have no concrete plans. I would like to hang out with friends, but for that to happen I have to start poking around to find other their plans. If we don't hang out with friends, then DH and I have plans to relax and maybe spend sometime in bed...

We go to my parents house every year. They have a huge party with 50+ people and its a lot of fun. We will stay the night there like always. It's nice because Eli has a crib there so he will hang out for awhile then we will put him to bed when he is tired and just go on with the party.

We usually hang out with my parents. It is too cold to be outside and going anywhere costs a fortune. We order Chinese and play games. Usually my aunt and cousins will come over too. My friend and nieces are here from NY, so they will be joining us this year.

No plans yet... I have tentative plans to spend them at my best friend's house with her hubby and kiddos, my "nieces," but she's been super tired lately (1st trimester pregnancy)... so we'll see what's up. There iiiis a new certain "someone" that I'd really like to spend the evening with... we'll see if he has plans or would ask.... it's super new... but really awesome.

Most years I've stayed home... I'm not much for crowds. When I still lived at home, we used to get together with the neighbors every year... but it's varied since then.... last year I spent it at my best friends... it was fun but I was super emotional. This year I'm happy and free and would love to have fun. We'll see!

We don't really have any traditions for NYE. I like watching Ryan Seacrest's Rockin' NYE on tv, but it doesn't happen every year,

This year I'm going to my twin's house for a girls' night in with a couple of our sorority sisters. She's had such a rough year, so we are going to welcome 2012 with a bang in hopes that it will be better. Steve is going to stay home with Finn and probably play xbox until he falls asleep on the couch. lol

We never do anything big deal. This year we did get invited to a low key get together with a couple of family friends and my family. We'll hang out there for a bit.

New Year's Dayismore of a tradition in my family than NYE. We have a Norwegian breakfast every year... This year it will be brunch since we have church in the morning.

We're going to a wedding during the day and the reception should last until around 10pm.  Afterwards, we're either going to an NYE party at the reception place, or we're going to the 3 room cabin we're sharing with our friends and toasting in the new year while playing games and watching the ball drop on tv.

Unfortunately we are going to Dh's high school friends house with a bunch of people I don't know who will be drunk while I sit there sober and bored to death. Ugggghhhhhh I just want to go back to md and enjoy our last as just us but my husband won't listen to me.

No traditions..DH made Chicken Parm (amazing btw), drinking wine and watching TV. Ella's fast asleep...and I'll probably not make it until midnight since I'm sure she won't be sleeping in!
