CFL Mommies - Halloween plans?

What is everyone doing for Halloween evening? Are you trick-or-treating in your neighborhood, or going to local events?

I've never been to Downtown Disney on Halloween. Do they have special events planned?

    Hawaii
  • Rylie is a little young this year, and she also goes to bed at 7, so we won't be doing anything.  Hopefully next year we will be able to do something with her.

Jen - I would be scared to death to take a baby to Downtown Disney on Halloween.  Be careful!

  • I'm not really sure. They may pass out candy in some of the shops. My friend came up with the idea. We really just wanted to go somewhere to show off our awesome Halloween costumes that we made. ; )

Why scared? We are going at 5 and gonna be back by Hunter's bedtime at 7.... I'm sure it will be crowded but Lils will be in her stroller. Plus she's already faced food and wine, how bad can it be? Afterwards we are going to a friends house and having dinner there that we are making in advance. :  )

Is Rylie dressing up at all? Lily's costume is super simple, it's basically clothes and a bone headband. haha

  • We are trick or treating in our neighborhood. We had tons of kids out last year and Taylor is excited and ready to go for the first time ever :) We may also stop in Publix between 4-7 since they are having a trick or treat too.

I'm going to go with LeeAnn on this one.  When Maddy was 5, I took her to DTD to trick or treat on Halloween and when we got there, we immediately turned around and went somewhere else.  That place is PACKED, and I mean it's packed like it's Christmas day at the Magic Kingdom PACKED.  They have the kids walk in a line inside a couple of the stores to get a piece of candy.  Really not worth it.  And with sooooo many people there, you may have kids touching Lily.

Yeah I'm sure it's packed, but I still wouldn't be scared to bring her. Kids won't be touching her unless I allowed it I'm sure. She has a travel stroller so I can always close the top. : ) I obviously am not going to have her stand in line for candy...she is too young. : )

  • I will probably take my son trick or treating to a few houses, then to a local festival at his daycare. After he is asleep, watch Halloween the original.
