Re: Marrying your prom date
Not quite but almost did... my h and I had just started dating before my senior prom(he was older, already out of school), he wanted to take me but I already had plans to go with a guy I had dated off and on during highschool, so we went. Had fun, but my mind was on h all night as we had just had our first kiss the night before.
I don't feel like I settled, but sometimes do wish I had gotten more relationship experience before we had met. I think some of our issues would likely have been avoided if I had been a few years older when we got together.
My date for my senior prom was one of my good friends who ended up coming out in college, so I don't think it would have worked out.
I also went to prom as a sophomore and a junior. As a junior my date was a boyfriend that I had dated as a freshman, and had gotten back together with. My date as a sophomore, did end up trying to propose, but my parents quickly shut that idea down when he went to ask for their permission. I have a feeling I would have laughed in his face if he had been able to actually ask me.
I didn't meet my DH until after college, and I couldn't be happier with how things have turned out for us.
