Hi ladies,
I am flying out to LA to visit one of my friends in two weeks. She suggested we maybe check out Temecula for the one night and do a little wine tasting. Anyone have any winery recs or hotel recs for the area. I would love to stay for the night somewhere very close to a winery or maybe we a nice tasting bar, so we do not need to drive or anything.
Re: Temecula CA?
South Coast Winery has a hotel http://www.wineresort.com/
This is a great hotel for both grounds and location. You could probably walk to a couple wineries from here (Ponte, Weins) and there's a spa. However, as a word of warning, it's one of my least favorite wineries in the area and doesn't give the best view of what there is to offer.
Our favorites in the area are Palumbo, Churon, and Hart. All are smaller and less commercial than South Coast. We usually stay at Churon, where we're members. The rooms are gorgeous and all have fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs, so might be better fit a romantic weekend instead of a girls trip.
I was going to recommend Churon also. I also really like Leonesse and Keyways wineries.
