recipe question

I know there's a cooking board but I know a lot of you on here cook a lot as well.  Do you know of any site where you can store all your recipes?  I have an account on certain cooking sites but I'd like one where I can keep them all together.  I don't want to print them all out because I tend to collect a lot of recipes and not cook them all! lol

Super excited that I finally got a crockpot with a timer.  We were having to hold of on many crockpot recipes because we are gone for too long during the day but now I can start to experiment!

Re: recipe question

  • I'll add though that if you do go the pinterest route, to keep both eyes open with what you re-pin. IME, 40% of the recipes are like, 'take a jar of mayo and add italian dressing!' or 'wrap crescent rolls around random sh*t!'.  40% is exceedingly Martha-ish, where you start by making your own stock from wild mushrooms you've harvested yourself locally, and then end by individually dipping 500 dragees in chocolate.  15% is stuff that looks excellent but the pin is broken and refers you to something completely different. 5% are decent, doable recipes.

So yeah.  If you plan on just pinning stuff you see it's not an issue.

  • I know FI uses a notes app on his phone to write down the recipe he uses and then it uploads to the computer and he stores them on the hard drive. Not exactly a website, but it's cool and he can pull up the folder with the recipes in it. He can also take pictures of the recipe (we get a lot from magazines like men's health) and it uploads it right to the computer too, which is cool instead of searching through our recipe folder.
  • I use the Chef Tap app.  It imports recipes (and a picture) and puts them all in one place.  You can make categories and sort your recipes accordingly.

  • I just use my old and busted copy of the Joy of Cooking for pretty much everything. If I try a recipe on the internet and it turns out good enough that I know I want to make it again, I print it out and stuff it on the shelf next to my JoC. Real fancy, huh?

Much more fancy than my collection of recipes that I've printed or gotten out of magazines that currently reside in a shoebox! lol

I keep mine in a binder. Ones I pull out of magazines I stick in clear page protectors, and ones I print I just 3 hole punch and shove them in there. Someday I plan on organizing them.

  • I save them to a folder in my favorites tab.
