Downtown Minneapolis Parking

We are staying at The Hotel Minneapolis (2nd Ave and 4th St) tonight for our 6 year anniversary.  The only parking they offer is $30 valet parking.  I'm not too hip on paying that, anyone know of any nearby lots (within 1-3 blocks) that are cheaper?  We don't mind walking a bit with our suitcase.  I've tried searching for a lot online, but I can't seem to find anything...

TIA!

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Parking

  • There's a lot on 4th and Nicollet across the street from the library that's kind of cheap.  Otherwise, you could park down at Fort Snelling and take the light rail in.
  • There is a ground lot on 5th and Marquette that I parked at when I stayed at that hotel a few years ago. There is also a parking ramp across Marquette from this lot that might not be too expensive. I can't remember how much I paid but I believe it was less than $10. When I stayed in dtwn Mpls recently and we had 2 cars one of us parked in a residential area in NE Mpls and the other parked at the hotel. I'm surprised it's so pricey. It was only $12/night to park at the Marquette and you had in/out priveleges. Not sure if you can get that price though if you aren't staying there.

  • Thank you for the 5th and Marquette tip!  We ended up parking in a rundown ramp right on the corner there and it was only $4 for overnight!  So happy with that price :-)  PS The Hotel Minneapolis was awesome (got it on Hotwire for $54/night) and they gave us free breakfast for our anniversary!

Awesome! We had a package deal when we stayed there and it included the breakfast which was fabulous! It's a great hotel and the rooms are so large (compared to other dtwn Mpls hotels).
