Strange/funny pet behavior
So our big kitty is usually pretty quiet. Lately though, he's started walking into the bathroom when you get out of the shower and meowing loudly. It's funny because it actually sounds like he's saying "meow." We can't figure out why. Seems to be inspired by the steam because that's the only time he does it.
Do your furry kids have their own odd/funny behavior?
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.
Re: Strange/funny pet behavior
One of our kitties does that too! I suspect she is either bothered by not being able to see us (shower curtain), or she is thirsty and wants some shower water.
One of my other cats plays fetch. The vet told us that it's really common for black/white cats to be "retrievers". I think it's hilarious.
That's cute
I could write a book about Phoebe's (our dog) funny/odd behavior. A few that seem to always elicit comment from people are A) That she will eat pretty much anything, including all fruit/vegetables. Her treats are baby carrots. I just gave her two leaves of lettuce from our CSA and she devoured them. I never had a dog before and didn't think too much of this (I just expect all dogs to be garbage disposals) but other dog owners and our vet tell us this is not usual behavior. On the same topic, she ADORES tangerines. If anyone is peeling a tangerine in our house, they can count on her smelling/noticing it right away and coming over to wait for them to share.
She always freaks out when the doorbell rings or we get a knock on the door, which isn't all that unusual (but definitely annoying). The funny thing is that if someone rings a doorbell on TV, she sometimes starts barking half-assed, like she kind of knows that's not a real doorbell but just in case she's wrong, she's going to bark...
C) When it's too loud or bright in other parts of the house, and she just wants a quiet place to rest/hang out, she crawls under our bed. Of course, she's too big to get all the way under there, so it's only the front half of her that's under, with the back half sticking out. It's hilarious.
Tea Time for Lulu
heh..my cat does that too. cracks us up!
he also HATES closed doors. the second anyone goes into the bathroom he stands there and meows his head off until you open the door and let him in. he also must be in there when someone is showering, he'll sit on the sink and meow because he wants to go into the shower but obviously doesnt want to get wet.
he's such a brat. sheesh!
My dog LOVES carrots, like more than any other treat food I could give him. He doesn't do lettuce or tangerines though. How funny.
Ditto. That is Lulu's favorite game. Once she gets started she will not stop, even to sleep, until the toy is taken away. My cat at my parent's house is the same way, although she loses interest a little bit faster.
Tea Time for Lulu
My orange tabby will come running into the bathroom if I'm on the toilet and just rub up against my legs. Doesn't matter what time of the day it is either.
My other cat, a brown tabby, and our dog will share the dogs bed for napping or sleeping.
