update on eczema

we went to the dr this morning just to make sure it wasn't something else because its starting to scab a little... ditto with everything Kendra said :) my dr was very cautious about giving him cortizone cream. he didn't want to start using something so strong on his face. we are going to start to wash his face with cetaphil and use eucerin lotion. i am still going to look for the triple paste at babies r us. they didnt have it at target in Spring Valley.

our next well visit is next month so im going to check in with him then. if it doesnt help we were recommended to switch him off the soy to simalic sensitive.

thanks for the suggestions!

he also mentioned to stop using aveeno baby because sometimes "baby" has a tint or other chemical to create a nice smell that could be bothering his skin.

Re: update on eczema

  • glad you got some answers and your little man can get some more relief.
  • poor little dude.  I hope it clears up.  I am going through a nasty flare up of eczema myself.  it is so uncomfortable. i would imagine it is a 1000 times worse for a baby.
sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.
  • I'm catching up so I don't know the whole story, but K has had wicked eczema on her skin this time of year.  Like your doc, we don't use the hydrocortisone cream on her face.  We wash it either with just straight water or cetaphil, during the day we use cetaphil lotion (with vasoline on her cheeks when going outside for playtime, etc at school) and at night we do cetaphil lotion with old fashion A+D ointment and it usually clears it up for a few days.  Its really a frustrating condition as neither A nor I have it really bad, just a few patches.  Good luck with everything.
