Weekend/New Year's plans?

What's everybody up to this holiday weekend? Any fun plans, or staying in?

We were going to stay in like last year (when we stayed in our pajamas, cooked an amazing dinner, watched Inception and went to bed early. It was glorious.) But then DH decided it was the right weather and a good opportunity to go look for salamnders... Yes, that's correct. The dog and I are joining him for a little weekend getaway up the north coast. Looking forward to it!

Re: Weekend/New Year's plans?

  • I'm working from 1-6 NYE and will do nothing afterwards. Just gonna chill with the animals. NYD I think a friend and her girlfriend are supposed to come over for some food, although plans aren't finalized yet.
  • no plans really.  we have 2 invites for tomorrow..just something low-key.  i'm not sure though..don't really feel like doing anything.

  • We are staying in. Cooking lots of food, relaxing in our pjs with drinks in our hand. We hate going out on NYE. Too many crazies.

NYD-I am running a 5K (what possessed me to do that?!) and then I plan to make cioppino and watching football (go niners)

Jan 2-Inviting people over for the Winter Classic (hockey) and eating more food.

  • DH has been sick for a few days, so we'll be staying in  this weekend -- which is what we usually do on NYE and NYD anyway... I'll just be cleaning the house tomorrow, cooking something simple for dinner, and continuing working on a dollhouse for my niece.
  • We've been invited to a friend's party, but we're not really feeling it. There's a good chance we'll just stay in. I'd like to cook something special.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • Nope, not any plans. DH will have to be in bed so not many options there. My mom is visiting us next week but not sure which days yet. MIL was just here for a couple of days. We went to Hollywood for the first time (for me).
  • We don't have any New Year's Eve plans. I wish we did though. I feel like doing something.

Yet overall I'm really looking forward to relaxing this weekend. We hosted Christmas last weekend and I barely felt like I had a chance to relax.
