NYE plans

What are you doing for New Year's Eve? Is there anything interesting happening in OKC you'd recommend?

H has spent NYE with his high school friends in his hometown for the past 8+ years, but this year he couldn't get time off work to be there. I offered that we could go out and do something on NYE so he doesn't sit around the house moping, but I have no idea what to do. We're not the club or loud meat-market bar type. I'm having trouble coming up with other ideas. Any suggestions?

Re: NYE plans

  • The skirvin is having a really nice price fixed menu.  If you book the 9pm sitting, it comes with free champagne. This was our original plan but then some of our friends bailed on the plan so now we are just hanging out at someone's house. I am kind of disappointed.
  • We are doing the hibachi thing with a big group and then going back to one of the couple's houses.

  • Big fat nothing!

I'm actually pretty ok with that. :)

  • The past couple of years we've done dinner at someone's house with 2-3 of our closest couple friends--drank wine, played games, etc.

Everyone's got conflicts this year (work, illness, and such) so I think H and are hanging at home. We're not big fans of "going out" on NYE because it's just too insane. He and I may go do a early dinner somewhere casual and then come home. I don't last much past 9 p.m. out, and with my reduced activity restrictions all I can really do is sit at a restaurant or someone's house.

Everyone be safe if you're out driving tomorrow night--be a defensive driver Smile

  • No plans here!  When DH gets home from work tonight I'll see if he's got some plans I don't know about, but we'll probably end up hanging out at home tomorrow.  We usually have NY Day lunch or dinner with MIL, SIL, and BIL, so I figure since it falls on a Sunday this year we may go to Sunday lunch at DH's grandma's.  Gotta have our black-eyed peas! • Nothing planned - for the past few years we've been asleep before midnight! On New Years, we're going to mass and then over to my family's house for lunch. We do the whole penny in the black eyed peas thing, and I hate black eyed peas so much that I'll only eat one.

  • H and I have tix to the Thunder game, then we're supposed to be headed to Junior's afterwards. We'll see if the Junior's part happens.

  • We're going to the Baron's game with another couple. Should be fun, but crowded since there's a thunder game and opening night in downtown!
