OB Help

Hi ladies,

I'm Amanda and just found out that my husband and I are expecting. I need help finding an OB. My current GYN is in a town about 25 minutes away where I used to live but she is not an OB. I would like to find an OB closer to where I am now in Holland, Ohio. Any suggestions of who to go to or avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Re: OB Help

  • Some people here love 'em, some people hate 'em...but I got to Maumee OBGyn over in Arrowhead, not far at all from Holland.

  • I go to Rivercrest OBGYN in Perrysburgh, a lot of other ladies here go there as well

    Ditto.

I wouldn't say I'm a hater, I just don't like the large group atmosphere.  I was a patient there until I was about 15 weeks and it just wasn't working for me.

I go to Dr. Puckett in Sylvania, she is awesome.  There is 1 other doctor in the practice with her, also female, Dr. Vannuyen, who is also amazing.  They are young, under 40 and both like talking to a girlfriend, rather than a doctor.  The only drawback for some people is that they only deliver at Flower, some people only want Toledo.  I however, wanted Flower, so the switch was ideal for me.

    Good luck.

  • I go to Maumee OBGYN off of Dussell Drive they have about 8 women doctors there.  I have 4 sisters and we all go there.  Each sister has roughly 3 kids each and they have had each doctor there deliver their children.  I would really recommend this OBGYN they are always very friendly and welcoming.  I would call soon though because I think it is hard getting an appointment for new patients.

  • I absolutely adore my care providers! I see Associates in Women's Health in Sylvania, OH. They are a group of 4 licensed midwives overseen by Dr. Jackson, DO. He's not an OBGYN specifically, but I believe that is what makes him so great! He's very personable, good bedside manner, and he's one man you don't have to worry about coercing or scaring you into an uncessary csection for his own convenience. Plus, I prefer care by women, so I get the best of both worlds between Dr. Jackson and the four midwives. :)
