Donations

I have been doing a lot of spring cleaning lately, and getting rid of a lot of big stuff (shelves, lamps, etc).  I had been trying to find a way to get my shelves out to Schoharie for flood victims, and I happened to see on Railroad Ave in Colonie that Ryan's Produce takes donations for Schoharie Flood Victims.  There are little blue signs up and down RR ave.

Just thought I would share that they take all kinds of donations, because I am always looking for good places to donate to, especially stuff like furniture.  I'm not affiliated with Ryan's in any way, and I would give them a call if you are bringing a lot of stuff, just to make sure they are still accepting the stuff or if someone will be there to take it.  Most flood victims are just getting their FEMA money so it will be a long road for Schoharie to rebuild.

Re: Donations

  • That's great that you are helping out!  I have driven through Schoharie a couple of times since the floods, and it's absolutely devastating what happened to their town.
    PersonalMilestone
  • A coworker lost her entire house so I've been giving her everything we would normally send to the goodwill (shelves, pots, pans, curtains, etc).  There is definitely a need out there.

  • One of my best friend's parents lost their house completely as well.  They were on YNN as the first people to rebuild in schoharie.  I can't even imagine.  I've been donating as much as possible since Sept, anything I can.
  • this is so helpful.  i have a lot of stuff to donate.
