BWLO: med admin advice

Collin is on amoxcillin for a double ear infection. Lucky for us, this is the first time he has been on antibiotics. Unlucky for us, he HATES it. We have given it 3 times and he has fought and screamed and cried. We had to hold him down. It was terrible and I just can't do it to him again. I tried mixing it with juice and we tried mixing with yogurt and he was not fooled at all. He flat out refused any of it. Any suggestions to make this easier. I was teared up this morning and just can't do it again.

Are you keeping it really cold?  We had much better luck with it being really cold.  Also, you can take it back to the pharmacy to have them add a separate flavor which may help.  Sometimes we have to make a game out of it by putting other things in the syringe first and making loud sound effects.

Hold his nose until he swallows it?  Not fun but he won't taste it and he has to swallow?

Cullen loves it when we put the med squirter in his mouth and make it suction to his tongue (not hard obviously).  He smiles when we start to bring squirter his way.  That is the only thing I can think of is make a game out of it and maybe put his favorite juice or drink in it first to get him used to the squirter and then try it with the meds once he gets used to it.
