KPSimon, MsMeryMac- THANK YOU!

I only posted here once, about my 9-year old cats obsession with the water faucet. I bought him a fountain, as per the majority of suggestions and it worked for awhile. But you two both mentioned that it could actually be a health issue, and you really made me stop to look at his behaviour. I noticed that he was peeing more, and that he had lost some weight, so I took him to the vet just to be sure. The poor guy has diabetes! I feel so bad for being so clueless. I just wanted to thank you ladies for bringing up taking him to the vet; I was so sure it was behavioural that if you hadn't made me think about it...well, I don't know how long it would have taken me to clue in. He's on daily insulin now. So thank you!
I guess technically now I should be SecondBabyMomma Lilypie Third Birthday tickers Lilypie First Birthday tickers

  • I'm happy your kitty got a diagnosis! Well, not about the diabetes, but about being able to get treated. My Samson was obsessed with the bath tub before we found out he had kidney problems (well, he still loves it), and I felt bad for not realizing there was a problem. But cats are so sneaky about illness - it's an instinctual thing, to keep predators from realizing they're weak. Glad we helped!
