~Emily~

For Thanksgiving DH, the ILs, and I are going to Tennesse to visit some of his family .  They're are located in a tiny town called Cowan. I've been told that we will definitely run out of things to do there, so we'll be spending a couple of days in Nashville. Any must sees/dos while I'm there?

TIA!

Re: ~Emily~

  • I've never heard of that town, but I can definitely recommend some things in Nashville.

--Go see the Christmas decorations at Opryland Hotel---it is amazing!

--I love the small, Civil-war town of Franklin located about 20 minutes south of Nashville. They have great little boutique shops (this is where all the country stars live) and southern restaurants. I highly recommend a visit to Puckett's Grocery (for a delicious breakfast) or RJ Dumplins' for lunch (my fave is poppyseed chicken casserole, the cloverleaf biscuits and chocolate pie for dessert--and the fruit tea!)

--My favorite part of Nashville is an area called Hillsboro Village---it is right by Vanderbilt. They have lots of cute shops and restaurants. My favorite restaurants: Jackson's (amazing martinis and one of the best desserts I've ever had---cookie dough egg rolls), Bosco's (great burgers---it is a microbrewery) and Sunset Grill (they also have a wonderful late-night menu which starts at 10:30PM on weeknights and midnight on weekends). There is also a famous restaurant called Pancake Pantry that is really popular in Nashville.

--The downtown area of Nashville is pretty fun---the Wildhorse Saloon is always fun! It is great for a night out and has line dancing which is an authentic Nashville experience.

    Have fun!
