I think Vinnie and the public. As much as Vinnie thought she loved Minnie, her first thought was always to the audience and the crowds.
The Barnum love story perplexed me. I wanted to think it was a sweet, starcrossed impossible love kind of thing, but I mostly just wound up hating Vinnie for how closed off she was to him even when I wasn't entirely sure he felt anything for her.
