Vet recs in/near Downers Grove
We are fairly new to the Chicagoland area and I need a good vet rec for my cat. We live in Downers Grove but I wouldn't mind traveling 15-20 minutes for a good doc.
Thanks!
Re: Vet recs in/near Downers Grove
We go to Archer Vet in Lemont:
(630) 257-5121
13731 S Archer Ave
Lemont, IL 60439
The prices are very reasonable, and the staff is very nice. Dr. Johnson is the best, but all the vets are good. It's right off I-355 and Archer.
I second this, Dr Johnson is the best around. I've worked for a breeder whos been going to him for MANY years and she swears he's the best too. Dr. J can be tricky to get into though. I've like Dr Chiffo (sp?) as well. There is a young guy there I don't particularly care for but I dont know his name.
I bring my ten year old cat to the Village Veterinary (and have since she was a kitten). They have an office in Clarendon Hills and one in Western Springs, so you're only 10-20 minutes from either, depending where in DG you live (I also live in DG).
They are not cheap, but are very thorough, nice, and not pushy.
I like all of their vets except their newest one, Dr. Gibbs (he's OKAY, I just really like all the rest of them). Dr. Hayna and Dr. Kruse are probably my favorites.
Good luck!
