His heart was broken when our first foster Bianca left. But tonight, I let our newest foster (her name is Mabel, btw - it's perfect for her!) out for some supervised play for the first time, and Leo is quite the smitten kitten. They hit it off instantly, and have been playing for about an hour. They've been chirping at each other all night; it's precious.
DH got a kick out of her chasing Leo down and swatting his butt. She's a spunky little girl!
This playtime really brought out her social butterfly personality. Grumpybutt Napoleon has even come out to say hello without growling or being ugly.
*Just for those who are curious about fostering: We keep our fosters separate from our residents for a couple of weeks to watch for potential health issues. If there are no problems, we let them out to play after the dogs are in bed for the night (around 9-ish). This helps us judge how they may interact with other cats and get a better understanding of their personality so I can write an accurate bio for potential adopters. They are never interacting unsupervised, and they eat separately.
Leo is quite a social kitty too, and he enjoys meeting new playmates. Napoleon is typically a grouch about new personalities in the house; he prefers dogs (after they realize he is in charge, of course).
Re: Leo is in love again
5 cats. 1 baby.
That's adorable!!
I love that Leo is so "personable!" I really wish my kitties were more playful with each other (they get along occasionally). I'd love to see funny kitty play antics!
You'll have to catch video for us next time!

Is he the pup in you siggy? If so, I can tell he must be a ladies man - very handsome!
Petey is the silly boy in my siggy. Leo is our tabby.
Ahhhh....got it! I'm still trying to figure out "who has what" pet so to speak.
Either way, Petey is a very handsome boy!
