  • Can I give her back?

Actually it will be interesting to see if she runs again.  She's aligned herself with Iowa so much in the last year that it would be hard to swallow her now coming back to say "I'm here!  Elect me!" don't you think?

This story from the Star Trib eludes to that ... will Minnesotans be upset that she claimed to be an Iowan during her entire presidential campaign?

Plus, her district will be realigned, and depending on how that happens, it might not be as strongly conservative as it is currently. As it is now, there's basically no chance for a democrat to win in the 6th district, just as it's pretty much impossible for a republican to win in the 5th district (the one Keith Ellison represents now). Without realignment, I would say MB still has a good chance for reelection, but I'm not so sure about her chances if her district changes.

  • I have to wonder who is doing the job of all of these candidates as they run around the country?

  • I think this would elude to that she was doing her job before she was running.  I doubt she will come back to office.  My guess is that she will try to turn commentator or something.

DH and I wondered that last night. I think the candidates should have to step down from whatever office they hold so someone else can do the job. The people in her district are crazy for electing her but they should still be represented.

  • I just read the Star Trib article and it says:

"Though Bachmann has been a prodigious fundraiser in Congress, she reported only $1.5 million in presidential campaign coffers at the end of September, and her organization was $500,000 in debt."

WTF???? I confess that I tune out when it comes to political blathering from both sides but don't the Republicans blame the Dems for the budget deficit? Dear Kettle, Your own organization is in debt so pull on your big girl/boy pants and take some responsibility. Sincerely, Pot.

  • ?I look forward to the next chapter in God?s plan," she said.  I'm guessing by God's plan, she's referring to Fox news

I so wish they would. But living in her district and seeing/knowing/talking to so many people who have and will vote for her...it's all centered on one of two issues: gay marriage and abortion.

  • I found it interesting that she did not mention coming back to MN to do the job she was elected to do in her speech...she said nothing about the work she is trying to do for her district in MN which I think says a lot about how she is treating it just for a stepping stone to something bigger.  I know a lot of politicians do that, but I do not feel like all of them are so apparent about it.  I am just glad I don't have to hear her voice quite as much now that she dropped out!

I believe that the news said she missed 71% of votes while running her campaign.
