Is selling puppies from cribs a new thing?

I know there was that Charm City place someone posted about, then this one got linked on another dog group I follow. Is it supposed to delude people into thinking the proprietors care more? Certainly the dogs don't stay in there overnight, right? Because I feel like they could definitely jump out if left unsupervised. And then the risk of having such a tiny, fragile puppy jump from such a high place to a hard floor.

This is in Fair Lawn, NJ. I don't live in that area anymore, but if I did, I'd be just as tempted to go put up flyers. Gross.

  • " We take care of our puppies and sell them from CRIBS!"

WTF!? I can't believe it is even capitalized as though that makes all the difference in the world! That is so absurd.

And those pics!! This whole thing deserves such a giant WTF that I don't even know where to begin.

  • I know! It's like selling them from cribs is some great feature. Those cribs are really no better than a lot of the stacked cages-style petshops and I still worry about curious pups escaping/getting hurt, so who is it benefiting?

  • Puppies from a crib. What a great selling point *eyeroll*
  • Ugh, I just saw an ad for this place on TV this morning.
  • Ugh!! WTF for sure. I was tempted to post something nasty on their FB wall.

    Ick!

I would bet my right foot these puppies came from a mill. So sad.

THIS is what I would have written had I not restrained myself. No reputable breeder, who is only breeding FOR THE BREED, would be selling their puppies to a pet store where they have no control over who takes them home. I'd bet money these pups all come from BYBs and mills like every other pet store out there.

  • 10% off on puppies sign just killed me. It looks like a baby furniture store in there.
  • All of their pups are "shorkies" "morkies" or some other crap name.

No way are these guys reputable. However, I did comment on a photo asking if the cribs were supposed to fool people into thinking these puppies aren't byb/mill dogs and that they're cared for more.

     Let's see if they reply.

  • To add insult to injury, in the post about this place, someone came in saying "Why are you saying this place is bad without even going in to see? Maybe they get their dogs from good breeders!" and then there was a collective groan and facepalm.

Their wall seems to be on complete lockdown now. I wonder if something happened.
