Intro and Show Me Your Craft Room, please!
Hi! I'm Amy. Wife, mom of 3 kids & 3 dogs, love sewing, quilting, crafts. I have recent sold some furniture and now have (Finally!!! so excited) a place in part of our finished basement to house my sewing machine, fabric stash, oodles of projects and tools. Now I just have to figure out how to efficiently use the space and make things accessible while maximizing work space 
If you have any pics of your craft room, I'd love to see them! The only furniture I have already is a 3'x5' oval shaped table that I plan to keep my machine on. TIA for your pics and/or organizing tips! (and my apologizes for any typos, I'm on my iPhone)

Here's mine. It's a mess in the pics, but it is always like this. My fabric is on comic book boards. And I'm blessed to get half of that closet.
Welcome! How old are your kids? No craft room for me (yet. Hopefully when we buy a home this spring or summer), so no pics. As for tips, I'd imagine it depends on what your main crafts are? I would buy different types of storage for fabric vs paper. For me, a large open space is essential for laying out quilts. And, especially in a basement, the position of the main workspace should depend on where the best light is.

Deal was, everything had to be free or next to nothing in my craft room. We had just built a garage with cash, so we had nothing left for the craft room. I had to be creative. Here it is:
