I need to put my life back together
and I'm only halfway joking. I feel like I'm coming off of a six week bender. In a way I suppose I am. I've spent all but six days of the past six weeks traveling. All of it was with friends and family I don't get to see often. This led to an overconsumption of food (most of which was eaten out) and alcohol. I've put on 4 kilos in six weeks. Seriously. 4 kilos (8.8 pounds) in a month and a half. Ugh.
It's time to return to healthy living. Who wants to give me healthy meal ideas? Bonus points if you post or link to a recipe.

BFP Apr 2012, EDD Dec 19 2012 * twin h/b at 6wk, 9wk scan * Baby A lost at 12wks, Baby B was my rainbow born at 36wks
uhm, yeah. I quit smoking 77 days ago, just had Crawfish Etouffee for dinner and we're having Chicken fried Steak for dinner on Sunday. I'm going to be of no help here.
But when you find that magic weight loss bullet, give me a page ;-)
I've been afraid to step on the scale after the endulgence of the holidays and our trip to NYC (lots of steak, wine, burgers, mexican food and chocolate cannot have been good!).
I've done a bunch of recipes from www.skinnytaste.com which are quite yummy.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
One of my favs recently has been Greek Chicken Pasta:
wholegrain pasta (I use penne, but it doesn't matter)
2 chicken breasts
1 garlic clove
1 small onion, chopped
1 can artichoke hearts (if you don't like them you could probably substitute olives)
1 tomato, chopped
feta (however much or little as you like)
2 Tbs lemon juice
1/2 Tbs crumbled oregano leaves
1/2 Tbs dried parsley
salt and pepper to taste
1. Saute chicken breasts, onion, and garlic while pasta is cooking in another pot
2. Add all other ingredients to chicken. Stir until warm. Add pasta.
Pretty easy and really, really good.
I'm making this bad boy tonight:

When we don't live with the ILs SO and I eat as low carb as possible. He feels better without carbs, and we both look better without them.
Best of luck! I'm right there with you.
I'm making Tuscan Baked Chicken and Beans in the next few days. Will add a whole bunch more spinach than it calls for to boost the veggies, plus there wasn't enough last time . Made it once before and it was so good!
I don't have any suggestions, but I'm right there with you! Almost exactly!
1 week of steak and Malbec in Argentina
2 weeks of all-you-can-eat buffets on the Antarctica trip (pigging out because eventually we'd hit the crappy "it's been in the freezer for two weeks" food -- which we never did!) and ridiculously cheap happy hour drinks
1 week in Rio with a great chef, lots of beer and caipirinhas, and an expense account
2 weeks in Houston with an expense account
I gained so much weight, and it won't go anywhere!!!
Oh come on... let's start this NEXT week. My BFF is visiting and I'm traveling this weekend, but I am soooo off the beam (cookies, chocolates, cake, MADNESS), I seriously need an intervention.
Will probably try to go low carb with healthy exercise mid-Jan! Cross your fingers for me... low carb in IT is like booze free at Sigma Chi.
This looks amazing. I think I'll be making it tomorrow.
The bit you mentioned about the Malbec is really making me want a glass.
I won't be able to go to the wine monopoly until tomorrow, but I'll join you. Wine doesn't have that many calories!
