I just read your blog about the cloth diapers. Good read! I'm really glad you found ones you liked! I was really overwhelmed with the cloth diapers so I ordered a sample pack. Then I had the same exact issues (leaking and super bulky) when I tried them with Makenna and was completely frustrated and gave up. I really really want to try them with the next baby from the start though so thanks for posting some tips!

I'm glad you found it helpful. If you're at all interested in trying with the next, it might not be a bad idea to give it another go with Makenna even now. At her age, I bet it would be much easier to find diapers that would work well for her.
There's a group on FB called Cloth Diaper Swap where mamas list new and used dipes, some are pretty cheap - brands like Sunbabies and Alvas are like $5-6 each!

kaesha I doubt the rest of the building would even know... honestly, I've had zero issues with poop in the machine or anything like that. For me, a load does take a little longer because there's an extra step of the rinse at the beginning (and most people do an extra rinse at the end too... I sometimes do but i'm not always good at remembering). My washer is pretty basic so I have to set that all myself. Some fancier machines might have settings that would do those extra steps for you in one cycle. But probably the biggest thing to consider with shared laundry is the possibility of hogging the washer all the time
That being said, I line dry so at least I don't also hog the dryer!
Jess - girl23 and I are in a FB group where we chat about CDing - would you like to join? I found the support really helps, especially since I don't know anyone IRL who does it. kaesha, you're welcome too! It was originally started by bumpies in our BMB so most of them have 5-6 month old babies but it's grown a little since then.
