Knit Picks shoppers -- price changes?

Is there any way to know when prices will change? I had a bunch of stuff in my cart and was waiting on a color to come back in stock. I got the notice today that the color was in, but when I went to look, everything else had gone up quite a bit in price. It wasn't a big deal and I still got what I needed, but if I had known I would have skipped that color and ended up with more yarn for my money. None of my items were on sale. Any shopping tips for the future?

I don't think it's necessarily "official," but a good way to keep track of their changes is to periodically check in with the Knit Picks Lovers group on Ravelry.  They keep abreast with all the new yarn lines, price changes, IDP patterns, etc.  

KP made the announcement a few weeks ago that they were going to increase their prices--no one knew the amount until the catalogs came out this weekend, but there's a thread on the Lovers group (with a handy-dandy comparison chart) about all the specifics.

You can also "like" them on facebook, but I find I get information faster with Ravelry.

I'll have to add that group to my list. Too bad I didn't think to check it beforehand! No way of knowing I needed to check, I guess.

Exact same thing just happened to me. I haven't looked at all their yarns, but I am not sure their Swish prices are really that great now, especially for a 50g ball. Cascade 220 is only slightly more and comes in so many more colors.

Cascade had a recent price jump too. The cost of wool is up, so I think you will find a lot of price hikes unfortunately.
