S/O Sparkpeople - anyone use My Fitness Pal?

I think I might start using my fitness pal. It seems more user friendly than Sparkpeople...either way time to make a change and eat better.

  • The idea of spaghetti and meatballs "eating better" is cracking me up.

No advice on the tracking programs.

Are you united with the CCOKCs?

  • I've used practically every calorie tracking website out there I think and I definitely like My Fitness Pal the best.

ETA: I haven't had any trouble finding any of the foods I've eaten in their database and this has been an issue with all of the other sites. Overall it just seems more user friendly too.

Good to know!  I'd love to use something besides spark.

  • I've never tried it, but the SparkPeople website is a PITA to me, so I might try it.

Too many layers of awesome, just like me. image
  • I have used sparkpeople, livestrong, and my fitness pal. My fitness pal is definitely the most user friendly, although I think livestrong has a better food database. The my fitness pal android app is very easy to use, livestrong, notsomuch.

  • My DH uses My Fitness Pal and prefers it over Sparkpeople.  I liked the nutrition of My Fitness Pal better but don't like that they add in my exercise calories.

I HATE Livestrong.  One of the reasons I really hate it is that their food is difficult to look up and you spend a ton of time looking for a item only not to be able to find it, so then you spend of a ton of time entering it and after you finish it says "oh did you mean x?"  GRRRR  I also don't like that if the information is wrong on a food you have to tell them and then wait for them to make the correction, in the meantime your calorie count is off.  The last reason I don't like them is that I bought a LS treadmill that has a USB so that you can take the information off your treadmill and add it your fitness only it doesn't work (I"m on my 2nd USB in 4 months) and it never credits you for your fitness so you might as well enter it manually.

Just returned to sparkpeople after a year long hiatus.  I'll check it out.  Manually entering food all the time on spark is a PITA.
