Random Question about flying/anxiety meds

Not sure if anyone will even know, but figured I'd ask :)

I really hate flying. A long time ago I used to get something mild to take the edge off from my old PCP, but once I got pregnant the first time I didn't use them anymore. Those obviously expired, and my old PCP doesn't practice in this state anymore. I haven't found another doc since I haven't needed one yet. Do you think i could call my OB and ask for something? The trip is just over a week away, so I don't have a ton of time.

Anyone else who hates flying take something? Who would you call?

Re: Random Question about flying/anxiety meds

  • I have a xanax rx for when I fly, prescribed by my pcp though. I don't think an OB would be able to prescribe a sedative but what do I know. Your expired rx would probably work though.
  • I take ativan when I fly, I think if I didn't have a Pc doc, I would call the ob and explain the stiuation and ask for a rec to a primary care doc. Maybe xthe ob will offer a small script to get you through the flight along with some good suggestions for docs.
