My friend just posted this question on my fb wall & I have no idea what the answer is
"Do you have any idea why the Vet gives the same dose of vaccines for a dog weighing 10lbs or 110lbs? I forgot to premedicate with ASA & now I have 2 lethargic/sickly looking dogs."
Im not sure, but I thought vaccines can cause lethargy? Someone correct me if Im wrong. & TIA for any additional info you have!

Re: ? about Vaccinations
Not all dogs react with a lethargy reaction, but some do. Most will have lethargy if given more than one vaccine at a time, but again, not all dogs will react.
Vaccines have (as long as I've been teching/working 10 years) always been single dosed vials and have always been given the same dose regardless of the size of the animal. It's just formulated, if you will, for the adequate protection for dogs, not necessarily their size.
And even if a dog doesn't react the first time, doesn't mean that they won't in the future. It is ALWAYS recommended to watch your pets for at least the first 1-2 hours after vaccinations (although the most serious reactions happen within the first 15-30 minutes, usually before you even leave the veterinary office).
