Has anyone taken a Spanish class in town? I was thinking of taking a Spanish class through Metro, UC Denver, or a community college in Aurora (due to locations). Anybody have a suggestion for instructors or institutions? I've never taken Spanish, but I'd like to be able to communicate better.
ETA- I'm totally open to suggestions, but I live in Denver and work in Aurora.
Re: !Espagnol?!
Before we went to Spain last year, both DH and I took classes through Colorado Free University at the Lowry Campus. I would highly recommend them as they have a very strong Spanish program. The intro class was a great refresher course from what DH and I had taken in high school. I continued onto the next level and took an additional 4 weeks of classes and it really helped me when we went to Spain (was able to communicate for 8 hours with DH's family, who didn't know any English). The classes provided workbooks and worksheets as well as CDs, so I could listen to the lessons in my car or downloaded on my iPod. I personally was able to learn and retain a lot more by going to the classes than trying to do a on-line course. I just tried to learn basic Italian this summer before my trip and took classes online through LiveMocha. And while it was a great site and very interactive, I know I personally do better in a classroom setting where you can interact and practice with the instructor and other students.
