I am thinking of getting one but not sure if they are worth it or which are better than others.

I have the Shark. I like it a lot! It does the job. I have 2 actually. One is the plain one and the other has a bunch of different attachments and shapes, better for corners. That's my rec.

We have a no-name steam mop that is great.  It is so much faster and less messy than regular mopping or hands-and-knees floor cleaning.  I also love that it only requires water and heat to clean; no chemicals.  I bought a shark but haven't used it yet.  I don't know that i have a rec, but i do recommend steam mops.

we have a shark from costco-- it does the trick, but i have nothing to compare it to.

I have a Haan steam mop and love it. It does great on my bamboo floors as well as the tile.

I was actually going to get teh Shark they had on sale at walmart on Black Friday but wasnt sure if they were any good.

I will have to try one out and see if I like it. Thanks!!

I have a Eureka that I really like.

When I was shopping for one, I found a review on Amazon that was super helpful.  I have it saved on my other computer, so I'll try to remember to post it later tonight.  Basically, a group of neighbors ended up with 5 different steam mops, and this review compares all five of them.  (FWIW...the Eureka "won" with this group, and the Shark got relatively low ratings.)

i don't even know what a "traditional mop" is anymore. don't think i've ever used one. i use swiffer-wet every two weeks or so, and steam mop maybe once a month?
