Amazon Prime

I'm trying to justify getting an Amazon Prime account so tell me, what do you purchase from Amazon?

Re: Amazon Prime

  • Everything! I do try to buy some things locally, because I feel guilty, but Amazon is just so darn convenient. I do most of my Christmas shopping on Amazon, so that in itself probably pays for my prime membership. Pretty much any books or dvds we buy from them, plus other random stuff for the house.  The other way I justify it is that you can have up to 4 (I think) Amazon accounts connected to one prime account. So, my parents, as well as my grandma also use my prime account. For $80/year, that's worth it to me.

  • Oh goodness, I use it for everything. Diapers, wipes, 80% of my Christmas shopping, I get free book rentals on my Kindle with a Prime membership, I search amazon for everything I need before I get it anywhere else so that I can try and get free shipping.

  • I also buy just about everything from Amazon. I did most of my Christmas shopping from them, I bought all my OPKs and pregnancy tests from them when we were TTC, I buy all books from them, and all kinds of housewares and personal items. For us, Amazon is just a lot cheaper than any store. For example, the replacement head for DH's electric razor is $35.99 at Target, BBB, and other stores, this year I paid $25.69 for the same thing on Amazon, didn't pay sales tax, and got it shipped free. I can go on and on about price differences I've seen between them and big box stores, but I think you get it. I don't have a Prime membership because I usually wait until I have enough stuff to order to qualify for the free super saver shipping. I LOVE Amazon though! I also plan on doing our baby registry through them.

  • Baby stuff (we just got 3 shipments this week from them), food, clothing, gifts and pretty much anything we need. I love amazon almost as much as I love diapers/soap/wag.com

  • I do probably half of my Christmas shopping on Amazon and buy all kinds of random stuff. Knowing I'm not paying for shipping makes me buy a lot more. For example, if I need a shoe rack, I don't go to Target or Bed Bath and Beyond, I hop on and get one from amazon. My brother loves new DVDs and lives in Phoenix so if I were to buy him a gift here, I'd have to go through the hassle and expense of shipping a little ol' DVD but instead I buy it from Amazon and then have them ship it for free with a little happy bday message. I have bought soooo much through Amazon. It's also super convenient for gifts... just ship it directly to your friends, no shipping cost or fuss... Personally I love it and the added convenience will make me renew it again and again... unless they significantly raise the price. Mine is up in March so we'll see.
