Humping Dog

I'm at my wits end my dog keeps humping my leg whenever she can.  She is fixed.  She has lots of toys and gets lots of walks.  When and I tell her to stop she will but how do I get her not to do it at all.  I don't get it please help.

Re: Humping Dog

  • I see you have a new baby -- it could be a sign of anxiety.
  • What are you wearing when you get humped?  I know my dog only humps me when I wear baggy pants (sweatpants) it is weird.  Are you always in the same type of clothing?

I'm going to hell because I thought this was going in a totally different direction.

Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.

  • humping is usually a dominance thing. With a new baby in the home, she may be trying to say she is in charge?

Talk to a trainer, most of them will give you a free consult by phone or in a pet store.

  • I would say it's dominance too.  I had the same problem with my adopted dog from about 6months (about 2 yrs old) with me to 2 yrs into the adoption.  She eventually stopped luckily.  She never did it when we were alone, it was always infront of company.  Very embarassing!  I would not give her attention, and just walk away from it whenever she did, along with saying No.  Good luck!
