Scared-Dog acting strange after vet appointment
So my dog had a UTI a few weeks ago I don't think it cleared up because she was straining to pee. This morning I took her in and they did a urinalysis (results won't be back until tomorrow). After they brought her back to me she was yelping and shaking, tongue out and wouldn't move. I asked the doctor what was wrong and he said she must be traumaized after the procedure. He kept her the rest of the day in an oxygen crate. I picked her up after he examined her one last time and now she won't eat or drink or pee and yelps every now and again. Any thoughts? If she is still like this in the morning I plan on taking her back in.

Re: Scared-Dog acting strange after vet appointment
I have read about similar cases and some experts have written that you should take your dog to the vet not just when you need her a checkup or a procedure, but until she is at ease, you should take her on a regular basis {talk to your vet about this idea, and I'm sure they'd be ok with it}. Because all your dog knows is thats the place she is going to go to get "hurt" {she thinks that in her mind}

And praise her really well when you leave the vet. Don't isolate her. Distract her from her thinking about the trauma. If she's physically capable - take her to doggy park. My dog loves being able to run and play with others. It takes her mind off whatever was previously going on. Happy pup
Best of luck to you!
