DSLR users- diffuser of light scoop

I just got a Canon Rebel T2i and I was looking into some accessories. I know they are different but what do you all think would be better for a first purchase, a flash diffuser or light scoop? Thanks!

Re: DSLR users- diffuser of light scoop

  • I think it would depend on the ceilings of where you are shooting. We have vaulted ceilings in many of our rooms so the light scoop doesn't always work. I have never used a diffuser so I can't speak for them.

  • I bought a light scoop and either our ceilings are too dark or I'm doing it wrong but it didn't really make any difference in my pictures. I hope that helps

  • Before buying a diffuser, try wrapping bubble wrap around the flash. Unless you are doing professional photos, then it would look a little unprofessional. If you're just doing photos for yourself, then it might save some money.
