Let's play Guess the Breed on the dog we found!
We found this dog this morning and I'm posting found ads everywhere, but in the meantime let's play GTB!
He is a black male, medium sized with a tightly curled tail and dark eyes. Very friendly, a little mouthy, about 40-50lbs and intact.
I did a google search of spitz breeds, and I found a picture of a black norweigan elkhound that looks exactly like him... white spot on chest and all. HOWEVER, considering this little podunk town I'm in, I highly doubt he's pure anything... maybe a sheperd/spitz mix. The resemblence between he and the dog on the right in the picture below is uncanny! What are your guesses?

Any tips on what else to do to find the owner? All vets are closed today and the animal shelter wouldn't let us bring him in to scan for a chip. I've posted all over facebook pages, craigslist, lost pet finders online.

His face definitely has some german shepherd resemblance. but the rest of him, I have no clue!
Wait, the shelter won't let you bring him in to scan for a chip today, or at all? I'm pretty sure vets can do this too, but then again, you'd probably have to wait til the vet office has business hours anyway. :-/

There are no e-vets out here... we're going to take him to the vet on Monday morning.
He reminds me a little of what Sable looks like when she's shaved down--but she's bigger, around 75 lbs. She's a Belgian shepherd/chow mix, we believe. I don't see any chow in that boy, but maybe Belgian mixed with something else? Who knows, I am TERRIBLE at guessing breeds. lol
He's stinking adorable, that's for sure.
