So, I just moved to Fresno from Colorado Springs and obviously there's not a Fresno board. Can I join you all?

Brief intro: My name is Andrea, my DH and I just got moved to Fresno for his job with a large company.  I'm a financial analyst for a small bank, and we have a little welsh corgi named Oscar.  Being from the midwest originally, we're excited to be in California and getting the chance to experience everything we can in the state.

Sure welcome aboard!  And welcome to California.  I know Passanie is from Fresno, and she is a lovely poster here   DH and I are originally from California, but moved to New Zealand in 2008.  I still consider this my home board.  Our Kiwi-American DS is almost 10 months.

Welcome! Yeah, there isn't much of Central CA board, huh? We always have a few Fresno people here. I'm originally from Fresno myself. So I can always be approached for restaurant recs and things to do there. Hope you're settling in. I lived in the Bay Area for 10 years, when I met DH. Now we're in L.A. because he's been trying to pursue stand up comedy here.

Yep, NZ is pretty awesome!  We love it here...don't think we'll ever be coming back!  I am originally from Orange County, DH is from San Jose.  I lived my last 10 years before NZ in the bay area, for undergrad and pharmacy school.

Welcome newbies! We define "Northern California" pretty loosely. We have Nesties from as far north as Chico, I think, and as far south as Monterey! And yes, we already have at least one Fresno nestie.

Tell us about yourself! What do you and DH do? How are you settling in CA? Any kids or pet? What do you guys like to do for fun?

Yeah, Fresno and Monterey are basically equally southern. Monterey is just on the coast and Fresno's inland. So Fresno is further away from most points in Northern Calif. But certainly people in Southern Calif consider Fresno Northern Calif. It actually takes the same length of time, 3-3.5 hrs, to get from Fresno to the East Bay as it does to go from Fresno to our place here in Northern L.A. Points further south (like Disneyland) definitely take longer because of L.A. traffic. We have another Fresno Nestie but she hasn't been around for awhile. I think she started a new job.

Another long-distance NorCal Nestie here.  DH and I moved back to Boston several years ago but I could never leave the NorCal board.  Feel free to jump in; this board used to be one of the most active local boards on the Nest but we've been going through a slow period and I know we all want more life around here!
