Boston Rescue

Anyone have any contacts? CWs Boston bite her four year old today while they were playing ball. The bite was on his hand and it required 3 stitches. She thinks she has a place for him to go, but I would hate to see the dog end up at the humane society.

Re: Boston Rescue

  • I don't have any personal contacts, but I would hope she would at least be doing a google search for rescues... I know there are several in the state.

  • Unfortunately, I doubt she is doing any research. Her words earlier today made me sad for the dog. Involved "break his neck" in the sentence, ugh.

I know we have talked about this before, but I would have a hard time giving up the dog under those circumstances. Dog took the ball under the bed. Her son reached under the bed trying to get the ball out of the dogs mouth. She said the dog was cornered between the boxes, wall and her son.

Of course the dog bit her son.  That makes me sad.

wow. I was wondering just how at-fault the dog was based on the fact that a ball and a child were involved, but that is even worse than I imagined. Hopefully she calms down and sees things differently. But if not, like I mentioned, a quick google search comes up with a few rescue options.

  • I sent her the quick google info. If DH wouldn't flip his lid, I would go kidnap her dog. She said oh he is staying outside, until someone takes him. She said maybe he will just run away Crying

As a mother, I'm sure it sucks for your child to require sutures. As a dog momma,  look at the entire situation. While it does suck, that is normal behavior for a dog in that type of situation.

This whole things makes me so so mad and sad. That dog and that kid should have never been in that situation. Crying

How long has she had this dog? I know I'm not a parent, but imagining even thinking the bolded about our dogs makes me sick to my stomach.

  • They have had the Boston for five years. They have a lab/pit mix too.

  • I kind of want to snap HER neck.

This makes me so sad. Poor dog. I hope he gets a LOVING home soon.

I'm sorry, but your co-worker is an idiot and shouldn't be allowed to have dogs.  Ugh, of course the dog bit the child!  He was cornered and his fight or flight reflex kicked in.  He couldn't escape the child so he did the only other thing he knew what to do to get out of the situation.  I bet you that dog gave the child some sort of warning before it bit him.  Also, why is she leaving her child unattended with the dog??  I love my dogs and know they would never intentionally hurt Wyatt but I never leave them alone in the same room and I always have a place for them to go that is baby free if they want to get away from Wyatt.
