Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Hi girls,
I have had an ipod since 2006 and used itunes on my old laptop that doesn't work anymore. I had a bad experience b.c. the laptop got restored and when I plugged in my ipod to itunes it erased my ipod. So I had to reload everything. I got a lot reloaded but there were some CDs I had already gotten rid of or lost and I lost my purchased music.
Now, I want to put itunes on DH's and my computer. I don't know if I remember my screen name and pw but I think I do. Do you think this will mess up my ipod again? Also, if I get an iphone can Isuse the same itunes with my ipod and iphone and not have it get erased? Does anyone know? I am not good with itunes or apple. TIA.

If iTunes is still the same as it was, you can have up to five computers & unlimited devices on one account.To find your id- try all your e-mail addresses & if those don't work, call apple support.
B/c of the new "iCloud"... all of your purchased music will be magically back in the cloud!
What you will need to do is set both the ipod and iphone to manually up date when connected to iTunes rather than automatic. Here is the link for the support page from apple: Manually update ipod.
If you need more help, I can check at work tomorrow on how to do this- my mac is too old to connect my iphone to, and my ipod is at work!
