H and I really want to go on a nice, sunny vacation in March/April and can't decide where to go. We were going to do Hawaii, but we're a little overwhelmed with the options, lol. So we started considering some other options.
We're looking for lots of sun, beautiful landscape, yummy food and drinks, maybe some snorkeling/outdoor tours.
Bonus points if you give reasons for your choice.

Re: Clicky: Vacation
i think you should go to secrets maroma. google it.
i picked florida keys because i've seen some beautiful beaches. i've never been to hawaii but it seems like there are more beautiful locations to see!
I picked Hawaii because I know for sure it has everything you said you're looking for.
I do like the Keys, but I wonder if it would be crowded and more expensive because of Spring Breakers? Also, you'll probably lose two full days of your vacation to just travel, wouldn't you?

I vote Hawaii and I've never been.
The Keys will be expensive and swarming with spring breakers that time of year. ( I use to live in FL and the crowds are insane)
Cali is nice that time of year, but really nothing to write home about.
I actually vote Mexico as an alternate option to Hawaii. We love Cabo, and it will have tons of sunshine, beaches (though the water will be cold), and excellent food/drinks. Plus, it's more affordable than Hawaii, if that's a concern.
Otherwise, I do always love Hawaii. The big island is one of my favorites, but I've also heard great things about Maui.
Cali won't be guaranteed nice in March/April.
Never been to the Keys, but it's farther.
I agree with Emy. Hawaii is fabulous, but if you decide not to go there, Cabo is fantastic!

jumped ship to the new and improved nest. back to TB for baby boards.
Well, I put SS because my vote is St. Martin if price isn't an option. That's where we had our honeymoon and we're dying to go back! One little island and you get French culture, Dutch culture, Caribbean culture, yummy food, friendly natives and GORGEOUS beaches, some snorkeling. Bonus: BOTH sides will take USD (and the Dutch side uses Euros but 2/3 of the places we went did an even exchange so bonus on the not losing due to expensive exchange rate.) Con: long flights, can't remember what part of the season this is for them.
Otherwise, I've only been to Maui out of your options and loved it. I would recommend Hawaii or Mexico.

If it's not too late to chime in, I've been to all the places you mention, and all the major Hawaiian islands, and I'd say Hawaii is hands down the best of the options you mentioned.
I'd advise staying away from Oahu; of the four main islands (Maui, Kauai, Hawaii, Oahu), that's the only one I don't like. What's your budget? I'd be happy to recommend hotels for you on each island based on your budget. In March / April hotels on the big Island are running around $150 - $200 a night (I know because I'm going late March / early April).
I might avoid the Big Island the weekend of 4/1; there's a triathlon going on and it will likely make it more crowded, cause some road closures, etc.
PM me if you want more advice on Hawaii - have been several times and am happy to tell you about our experiences.
