My 9 month old pug is starting to have some pretty bad gas. We haven't changed his food or given him different treats. Has anyone else experienced this and what helps to keep him smelling like roses?

Re: Stinky Pug
What do you feed?
PS- no matter what you feed, a dog's rear end and business is never going to smell like a rose. Trust me.
Also, pugs, by nature tend to be a little gassy. This is because of the way they breath and take in excess air. This gets worse when they chew on a bone or toy as they take in even more excess air. Obviously that air has to come out someway and usually that's by way of gas.
We have two pugs and have had countless pug fosters as well. One of our pugs is pretty gassy and the other rarely ever is. They are both fed the same (Taste of the Wild) but one chews on bones MUCH more and I think just by makeup tends to be a little on the gassy side.
""No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you're the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside."
"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered "Life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you... ever in the world." ~ Nancy Tillman
Ditto PPs - finding the right food can really help cut down on the gas. A high quality, grain-free food is a good place to start, but not all high quality foods will work for all dogs. Many local stores will give you samples so you don't have to buy a whole bag only to find out it's not right for your dog.
I currently feed Wellness Core, and luckily, both of my pugs do really well on it. Skippy was on Science Diet (very low quality) when he was in rescue, and he reeked (not just gas but an overall gross smell). Once we switched him to Core, the smell pretty much disappeared (except for occasional gas).
