Cost of professional landscaper?

I'm clueless.  For the average front and backyard on a .15 acre, any idea on the cost range?  Hundreds?  Definitely thousands?

It depends on more factors than you're providing. What are they going to be doing? Are they planting? Topsoil? Mulch? Sod? Hardscaping? Design and installation, or just installation? What's the COL where you live? Big box joint or small company? Etc.

We had a large landscaping project done on the front yard of our last house in 2006. This included digging out a rocky slope, putting in topsoil and mulch, some large plantings, an 80' retaining wall, and a new paver sidewalk. We got bids from $15K-40K.

We have a bigger property but only had the front done - for the creation of the beds (along both house foundation + a 24' x irregular 4' middle of yard bed), mulch, lime stone mower's edge, some boulders for definition, + the plants (hundreds) - 8K

They can definitely work within your budget. We had one give us his ideal landscape then work within our budget on things that we could do (clear existing beds, soil, irrigation) and utilize some of our existing plants and it dropped the price down significantly.
