AW & more

I am 15 weeks PG (with twins!), and am getting to the point now where I need some maternity clothes.  I have some leftover from my previous PGs, but the pants don't fit.  I need smalls or size 6s, I think, b/c the mediums are too loose still (but I'm sure they'll come in handy as I get further along).

Anyone know where I can get some very inexpensive maternity jeans? I don't mind them being in used condition, and I've looked on craigslist but size small seems to be hard to come by. I've gone to the Goodwill in Edmond, the Goodwill in MWC, and EARC (I think that's what it's called), but no luck...most of the small jeans there are either 15 years old and unattractive or have the huge belly band that goes over the entire stomach (I'd rather it be the under-the-belly-kind).

TIA!

  • I've seen maternity clothes at Once Upon a Child off of Western. I know in March (which I know you need them soon) Just Between Friends starts up and would have materinty clothes there.

ETA: Have you look online at Target or ON in their sale section? When I was pg I found some great prices at Motherhood in their clearance section.

  • Congratulations!! I know what you mean...size smalls in maternity don't seem to exist secondhand. If I were further along I would let you try my stuff, but I still need it :) My maternity jeans come from Target and Motherhood, and they were $35 and $40. Of course I have to get them hemmed, which unfortunately adds on more $.

I live in SWOKC, so the stores I know of are down this way. There is a consignment store on SW 149th and Western called Blessings and they have maternity and children's clothes. There is another one called Mommy and Me in Newcastle/Tri-city area that also has maternity and children's clothes. I'm going to see if I can find a similar thread I posted in the beginning of my pg.

Motherhood has cropped straight jeans on clearance right now, or they did in store a week ago. If you wear your jeans tucked in to boots that could be an option. Also, Gap and Old Navy have really good promo codes online for sale items if you check their websites frequently.

  • Congrats!

Have you tried a belly band?  I lived in that until 26 weeks or so.  I also used the hair band through your jeans loop trick to get an extra inch or two.

I would look around on motherhood, old navy etc clearance sections.  Sometimes you can get some pretty cheap ones from there.

  • Holy shitballs, congrats! Honestly, I would check the *dallas* craig's list and also call some consignment stores in Dallas. With all the plastic surgery that goes on down there, you will definitely find your size.  Smile
  • TWINS?! OMG! Congrats!! :):)
  • Twins! Oh my! Congratulations!

  • Thanks for all the well wishes!

I've tried the hairband through the button-hole thing...That worked well for the past 4-6 weeks (I popped out really early since there's double), but now I'm just stretching out the buttonhole a little more than I'd like. I haven't tried a belly band, but I might go for that if I can't find some small maternity jeans soon!

I haven't tried a lot of the consignment stores listed, but I will definitely give them a try! I've been keeping my eye on Target's stuff, but so far haven't seen much in stores on clearance. And I definitely need to stop by Motherhood more regularly!

JBF has a sale in Norman in February, so maybe I'll try to hold out. Is it worth volunteering to get in early?

  • Holy crap--twins?!? Amazing! Congrats to you!!

Yes! I wish I had the time to volunteer because you get to shop before everything is picked over.

  • I got all of my maternity clothes at Old Navy and Motherhood Maternity. Motherhood is definitely not cheap, but I felt like they had the best selection, quality, and fit (and they had petite jeans which is a must have for this short girl). I never paid full price for anything though--they have sales frequently!!

Congrats!! Is your H going to have a heart attack if it's 2 more girls? Stick out tongue

  • Ooh, congratulations!!!  I found a couple pairs of jeans at Ross when I was PG with B but my favorite pair came from Motherhood and I think I paid maybe $20 for them.  ;)

As for JBF, I did the 20 hours for the last OKC show and decided that I will do it again once DH and I are expecting again.  It was WELL worth the time!  Plus, you can have people work shifts for you.  :)
