WWYD: Awkward POF story

Last week I mentioned that I started an intermural co-ed volleyball league and had a great time.  The captain of my team was pretty cute and really nice (I started the game ducking from the ball and he cheered me on everytime I hit it).

I just got a message on POF from someone from my town with his name (not very common).  The pic was bad so I found him on FB and yup, it's definitely my volleyball captain.  WWYD?  I'm guaranteed to see him and play with him every week until the end of March.  Do I ignore the message or message him back that I'm the girl from his volleyball team?

Now I'm thinking that I'm either not memorable in person or look nothing like my POF pic (granted my pic is in a black dress and I played the game in sweats and a grey t-shirt).  Thoughts?

Re: WWYD: Awkward POF story

  • Maybe he does recognize you and just thought approaching you online was somehouse "safer" than at volleyball? I'd email back and say "Hey ... funny that we are both on here. Thanks for cheering me on at v-ball last week. It's been so long since I've played I was totally nervous! Want to grab a drink/food/whatever is appropriate after v-ball next week?"

    I agree with this
  • Ok thanks, I'm a spazz and needed help.  I c&p'd your response AK, except I took out the invite since his email was just a "Hope you had a great weekend. Wanted to say hi." email.  I guess he did realize it was me.  Oh well, I'll see if he writes back.

I would have said this too!
