Hello ladies - We need to rent a storage pod to store some furniture in for about 2-3 months. Anyone ever rent one onsite? Are there any other companies than "PODS"?
Re: Storage Pods
HI- We looked into a couple of others but they were further away and ended up being more expensive.
We rented a pod but had it stored at their warehouse since we didnt have a closing date on a house.
we were between houses & used Pack Rat. Make sure to scan for coupons online. it was very convenient, they brought a pod to our old house. it took us about a week to fill it with our stuff and then they hauled it away for storage.
when we moved in to our current house, we had them drop it off on our drive way and when we emptied it out they came to pick it up.
I am very familiar with pods. I was able to do my research before I decided to go with Mobile Attic. I was looking to store for 5 months, while I was waiting on our house to finish being built. Being able to pack at my convenience was what I enjoyed most. I could remain organized and make sure that everything was packed correctly. Mobile Attic encouraged us to pack it tight and right, as well as use many straps to secure my items. I did as they recommended, and everything was delivered in the same condition that I had packed it.
Pods is not the only company out there with portable storage. This is a link http://www.mobileattic.net/why-choose/faq-pods-columbia-sc-comparison that convinced me to go with this company. Maybe, you can find a similar local company that can save you money. I enjoyed not having to load and unload twice. I would choose portable storage over regular self storage any day.
