Park car at airport or take cab?

Would you park your car at the airport garage for 12 days?  Or would you leave your car at home and just take a cab to the airport?  TIA

Re: Park car at airport or take cab?

  • Personally, I'd ask friends or coworkers to take me to the airport. I live on the other side of town, so a cab fare would be expensive.

I wouldn't park my car at the airport if I could avoid it. I know it doesn't happen often, but a couple months ago, a car caught on fire out there. I just can't see paying money to park in a place that isn't particularly safe.

  • I'd also ask someone to take me - Mike drops me off all the time when we have to travel for long periods of time, but I leave my car there for a week or so max.

Let me know if you need me to come up there and get you guys :)

Move along, nothing to see here.....
  • I also only park there for a max of a week or so.  After that, we either cab it or hitch a ride.
  • 12 days!??  NO WAY!!!!  That will be super expensive.  Cab it! :)
  • You might try Carey Indiana- we use their car service when we travel, and it's very affordable.
  • From Fishers, a cab to the airport is over $100. We found this out the hard way. Parking a car in the Economy Lot for 12 days will still save you at least $20. A Park and Ride is a good option too b/c they'll brush your car off and warm it up for when you return, but if you are traveling at the holidays, you should call and make a reservation now.?
  • We always use the A-1 parking lot (over by the Adam's Mark Hotel).  It's not owned by the airport, but rather is a private company.  You park in their lot, they pick you up at your car with your bags, and they drop you off at your terminal.  They give you a card with a number to call when you get back and have your bags, and then they drop you off right back at your car.  It's $4 per day, and then we usually tip $1 per bag we have to the driver.  We've had great luck with this in the past.
  • I'm a little late but yeah I would agree... take a cab or get a shuttle service. The parking rates are crazy.
