Stainless Steel Backsplash?
How would you feel about this in a home?

Re: Stainless Steel Backsplash?
If it's an otherwise modern home then I'm ok with it, though it's not my style overall. The 2nd picture is something I'd admire in somebody else's home, but never do in my own.
I've seen those metal tiles done on some of the DIY/HGTV shows though that looked awfully cheap. And I hate it as the backsplash in a more traditional kitchen.
My Goodness...another food blog. Featuring: Macarons from a old post with a photo taken by my mom for a break from my crappy food photos!

I don't think I would like it. Seems like it would be hard to keep clean.
Ditto this- also depending on the size of the kitchen and backsplash you could end up with too much stainless, if all of the appliances are stainless (fridge, dishwasher, oven & micro) it could easily end up w/ stainless overload.
I have seen non-tile stainless backsplashes (think industrial/commerical looking and not throughout the whole kitchen) that work in very modern kitchens, I think I prefer that to the tile.
We have white appliances, and newer (non-orangy) oak cabinets (yeah, I know oak is hated here, but we won't paint or replace perfectly nice cabinets simply to appease the D&R trends). DH suggested a stainless backsplash behind the stove, and when I googled, I came up with those tiles.
What about a stainless panel backsplash behind just the stove with a modern tile backsplash kind of like this everywhere else?
We actually considered a tiled, SS backsplash for our kitchen but ultimately decided it didn't go with the style (or lack thereof) of our house. We went with a mixed glass-and-stone backsplash and it fits much better with the other elements in our kitchen.
Sounds like what I'm looking for. PIP?
I think that would be a great idea! My aunt has sheet stainless behind her stove and tile backsplash everywhere else and it looks really great! Her home is really traditional and this use of stainless works really well. I do think her appliances are ss too though, but can't remember.
I would love a stainless backsplash, but would prefer sheet stainless over stainless tiles for sure.
I agree it's NMS for a kitchen. A glass and SS tile mix would be better. Or even better a glass and stone mix like the pp mentioned. All SS tile looks better in small amounts like this laundry closet:
I don't think I will use it anywhere else in our house, but we have it in the basement bar and basement bathroom. Actually ours is a brushed aluminum staggered brick. It is probably my favorite element in the space. You can see the other photos of the space here: http://twiceasmanymoments.blogspot.com/2011/11/basement-reveal.html
Bathroom (sorry they aren't on flickr, no PIP)

Really nice! Love it!
