Baby Shower - looking for affordable venue?
I am looking for ideas on affordable venues to rent in Dublin, Powell, Westerville, Worthington, UA, etc areas...it will be a larger group of about 30 people. Prefer to have the ability to bring food, but also will look into places where you need to purchase food if reasonable.

Hi!
Church of the Master, St. Paul's Catholic Church, and St. Elizabeth's - all in Westerville - have pretty big, nice rooms that you could probably rent. You could definitely bring your own food. I don't know if they would limit the rooms to parishioners only, or if they would let you use the room as long as it is not in use, maybe for a donation to the church.
I do some banquet service and can recommend Northpointe (it's at High Street across from Highbanks). They have a bunch of nice rooms to rent, though you would probably have to use their catering. Not sure about price. The Hilton Polaris is a wonderful place for events of any kind. They are so professional there. And the food is awesome.
Jimmy's V's restaurant in Westerville has a party room - I think it would seat 30. Good food, reasonable prices.
There's a bunch of nice country clubs and restaurants that I can think of, but they would probably be pretty pricey.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more specific questions.

My read shelf:

I'm guessing around 60 invited, but probably only 30 or so would show up. DD is the only kid in our family, so a lot of the kid type places would be pretty pointless. Almost all of our family live in that area, so it makes more sense to have a party there than everyone travel to us.
I'm not looking for anything fancy. A church hall, community center, or VFW hall would work fine. Preferably something where I could bring food in. I've been surprised about how expensive some of the rates have been especially for non-residents.
